How Do You Read Blogs?

It's a while since I've posted a blog,  lots of reasons. I'm thinking of starting again. However,  I used to read the blogs I followed via Bloglovin' which apparently no longer exists! Yet,  I still appear to get updates from it - so I'm confused!
So please tell me which blog reading apps you use. I use an Android mobile but also have a Windows PC.
Thank you in advance

  1. I've added the blogs I like into a section in my own blog's sidebar. The type is 'blog list gadget' and its set to 'most recently updated'. So the ones without an update don't show up. Lots of people don't blog but enough do to amuse me. You might also enjoy The Sewing Place chat board at - https://thesewingplace.org.uk/index.php Cheers Ruthie

  2. Hi Anne. For a while it did seem as if Bloglovin' had disappeared but suddenly a bit before Christmas it came back and I actually saw this post of yours pop up just. Having said that it did stop working for a few days last week but for the most part it's working. Oh and I use Bloglovin' on my laptop on Windows not on the App. Another option that is good is Feedly. You can juts use your Google account to log in and make an account and it;s free.

    1. Thank you. I couldn't understand why I was getting messages with links but it was going nowhere. I'll do as you suggest and have a look at Feedly too

  3. I use my own and others blog rolls too. I miss a lot of the blogs that were around and I won't do instagram so I miss a lot.

  4. I use Feedly and have for over 10 years. It only posts those blog entries that are current. I've been very happy with Feedly. It's free also!

  6. Now that’s good news, Anne! Actually I found this post via Bloglovin but I don’t use it very often. Most of the people that used to blog are now active on Instagram. Some blogs have a newsletter subscription that alert me on new posts, perhaps that’s an option for your blog? Can’t wait to read what you’re up to!
    Greetings, Marianne (Foxgloves and Thimbles)

  7. Hi Anne, I bookmark blogs I find interesting, organizing them into folders. If they offer RSS feed, as you do, I also add the feed to my Thunderbird email reader so posts pop up when they are made. To read, I open the bookmarks tool (Ctrl-B) along the side of the browser window and click my way down the list of sewing blogs (or whatever I'm looking at), rearranging them as appropriate when they become less active, so I'm mostly looking at fresh posts. I use Firefox browser, I don't know what the equivalent is in Chrome.

When I read a blog that has the handy list of blogs along the side, I'll pick up any new interesting blogs into my list. Occasionally I'll check their Instagram too, if there is one. Blogging is a lot of work, I'm grateful for the bloggers generosity in sharing it so freely. So many have become inactive that I have folders for those too.

    Good luck to you,
    D.

  8. Hi Anne, we used to chat on MAGAM. Nice to hear you might blog again. I’d definitely read it. I was looking at one of your reviews for pattern review, just a minute ago. I’m still sewing but increasingly bad at posting reviews. I must get my husband to take some photos soon. All the best. Trish S
