How do you add the 'follow me with Bloglovin' icon to my blog?
I wasn't able to put the 'follow me with Bloglovin' icon on my blog. I had searched and couldn't find out how to do it. I was looking at all the options I had in my blog settings. Then I discovered that the problem was that I hadn't 'claimed' my blog into Bloglovin. I started searching on my daily Bloglovin feed and found the answer.
First I had to claim my blog. This created a link which I had to post into a new post header - this post.
Now that my blog was claimed, I could put the icon in to allow followers via Bloglovin - the link sent by Bloglovin had to be added to my 'add gadget' tool via the third party, HTML option.
And hey presto! A link.
I chose a simple icon, though there were more complex choices such as the Eiffel Tower.
I thought I could then possibly delete this post. However, some people had already 'read' it - a blank post. So I decided this morning to put a brief explanation as to why it's here. Other people might find it helpful. If people search, as I did, they may come up with this post which could be helpful to them.
In my case, I have two separate email addresses and usually use one to follow blogs etc but my Google account, Blogger etc use the other. So I have a number of duplicate profiles. I will get around to sorting this out. I have too many to feel I want to tackle it at present. I had wondered why I was notified about some posts but not others, while an another group was notified twice. A mess! I believe I had followed some blogs using more than one profile.
I might now receive duplicate Bloglovin notifications. I'll gradually try to sort it rather than having a big splurge.
I started my blog to chart my sewing progress. I started sewing after I retired and I'm continuing to learn and improve.

i don't know when this post was published, but as i speak bloglovin is having 'issues' (their word - not mine) so i advise you to hold on to another feed. since google reader went down i have realized the need for backup and am here to tell you that i lost feedly for over a month (i did get it back), atom is very nit-picky about what it will and won't accept, google+ forces you to join a social media (i won't), wordpress doesn't show what has been read and you have to guess.
ReplyDeletere: bloglovin - the issue: it can't add or delete any feeds or shadow out the ones which have been read. i contacted them a number of times at their 'contact' address and after more than a week they finally got back telling me they were working to correct the issues. the issues continue. this has been going on for about 10 days now. i've been following you on atom, to which i manually added your address as a backup. clever me.
I've just noticed your comment, sorry. I'm not sure I understand the ins and it's of what you raise. I did manage to add the bloglovin icon, don't know about atom or feedly etc and can't manage to do a lot of what I would like to do with blogger - pages or 'folders' as I would prefer. For the moment I'm just working on the simplest level as I've wasted a lot of time trying to sort it out and don't want to waste more. Thank you for commenting. I do get rather concerned about what several sites want you to do or join.
